Team Competes at the
18th Annual Hornet Invitational at Savannah Country Day School

Fox Creek High School’s Academic Team competed in their second
academic tournament, “The 18th Annual Quiz Bowl”, at Savannah
Country Day School in Savannah, Ga. completing 7 rounds before
being eliminated. Their first competition attempt at the
Academic circuit was in December at the USC Challenge at
University of South Carolina, Columbia for the 17th Annual High
School Academic Bowl. In this competition, the FCHS Academic
Team completed 8 rounds with a tie, and then was eliminated in
the playoff round. The students are excited about the way they
able to compete against teams from schools around the two state
area (South Carolina and Georgia). The FCHS Academic Team will
travel to Dorman High School (Roebuck, SC) for the next
tournament, Dorman Cavalier Academic Challenge.
The academic
competitions are presented by two academic organizations;
American Academic Decathlon and National Academic Quiz
Tournaments (NAQT) provide a standardized, nationwide
competition format that is open to all high schools, home school
collectives, community colleges, and colleges. In addition to
its national championships, NAQT provides questions to
invitational tournaments and league championships throughout the
year. |
