Spelling Errors Beware:
Fox Creek’s Interact

Have you ever had a
moment when you were
writing a note or e-mail
and were unsure how to
spell a grimy little
word that was on the tip
of your tongue? The
third graders at Mossy
Creek Elementary School
will never have to face
this dilemma. The North
Augusta Rotary club
passed out a dictionary
to every third grade
student in Aiken
County. The Interact
club at Fox Creek high
school helped pass out
the dictionaries Monday
morning. The third
graders were very
energetic and ready to
receive the
dictionaries. Each
dictionary contained a
sticker with the
Rotary’s information.
Wayne Moore, a rotary
member and Interact club
sponsor, was on hand to
tell the students about
the dictionaries and the
Rotary club. A tenth
grade student, Danielle
Payne, said, “I remember
watching the third
graders because they
were so excited about
getting a dictionary.”
Payne is the
vice-president of Fox
Creek’s Interact club.
The Interact club is
sponsored by the North
Augusta Rotary club and
enables students with
the ability to serve
their community. The
president of the
Interact club, Kelsey
Valentine, said,
“Interact club is a very
gratifying thing to be a
part of. It is a great
way to make a difference
in your community.” The
Interact club can be
seen helping out the
Rotary club again
November 3rd
at the Rotary Bowl at
Lion’s field. Feel free
to come out and support
the Rotary and Interact
clubs. Fox Creek
students are learning
how to serve the
community and extinguish
the possibilities of not
knowing how to spell the
next grimy word that
comes to mind.
